It's resembling a yoyo

I have thoroughly enjoyed featuring talented authors on my blog lately, and have more to come in October. I'll also be featured elsewhere in the coming month as well, so watch out for that.

Before all that excitemet starts though, I have some news. It's not important news, but my online life has changed a little. I left my writing group recently. I didn't feel like I had any choice. I miss most of them terribly, but I can't go back while things are as they are in there. I'm not going to go into details of course, but let's just say that I was uncomfortable and unhappy about some of the practices and morals of a couple of members. I didn't make a song and dance about leaving, or leave a really long post which would leave the group in uproar, and I didn't take up my issues with anyone. I left quietly and never said a word. I just wanted to say that I hope the group goes from strength to strength, and that my friends in there remain my friends regardless of me not being in the group anymore. It hurts that I felt forced to leave by relatively new members, as I was one of the founder members of that group when it was set up over a year ago. But we all have to move on at some point.

That all done, I can now turn to the subject of this posting. My second novel, Exorcism of the Species, is beginning to resemble a yoyo. It keeps flitting in and out of the top 100 in the supernatural category. Sometimes, like today, it gets as high as number 20. This pleases me greatly, although I'm starting to get a little sea-sick.

My progress on the next book in the series is slow at the moment. I was hoping for a Christmas release, but I don't think that is a viable option now. I don't want to rush it out just because it's Christmas. I want to make it as good as I can. However, never forget that if you liked the book above, then you can also read my first novel in the series, Fabled Enigma.

On the upside though, a Christmas release of the collaborative novel I am involved in with a group of exceptional writer friends, is definitely on the cards. More about that nearer the time, because at the moment, it's a very secret secret. Shhhhh.

I'm thinking about also releasing a book I have been working on about true paranormal experiences. The only problem with this one is that I haven't quite worked out, from the many true stories, which ones to actually include. I'll work it out eventually, and when I do, you will be the first to know.

I'm going to leave this blog for today now. Have to go and do some writing. Have a brill Sunday, and keep checking back for more author features in the coming weeks.

  1. I'm sorry you had to leave the group, Gail. Especially as you helped start it. I can understand how you feel, though. Sometimes, we need to move passed things quickly and quietly, in my case it became part of the Chronicles story.
I had some true paranormal experiences if you are interested.
All the best with the yo-yo and congrats for the 20 :)

  2. Thanks Al :)
The parnormal experience book is actually a colleciton of my own experiences throughout my life.
It's a nice idea to collect some true stories from others for a book down the line though. :) Very much worth considering. Maybe we can collaborate after Christmas? hehe

  3. I could use a cliche about parting, but will spare the world that. It does sound like you are still torn about the leaving. I pray it works for all of you. Good luck with finishing your upcoming novel.

  4. Sorry about about your group experience. It's probably not all that unusual.
